Busy Saturday. We got up late, and I went to Becky's 'sprinkle' for Darcy at the Tea Embassy (never been there before). There was the usual assortment of questions, but I think I'm getting better at handling it now. I was also marveling at how big all of Darcy's clothes seemed to be. All what you are used to, I guess.
We received a call from Dr. Breed in the morning. Both girls looked good, so he was planning to lower their oxygen (H to 3 liters, A to 2 liters), increase their feedings (H up to 25, A up to 23), and see how they did. No other news to report.
Matt and I headed to the hospital for the 8:30 feeding/diaper change. He was so happy/relieved to see them - it had been since Wednesday, due to work, and he was really missing them. When we got there, turns out both girls have moved up in diaper size! Not necessarily because they are getting that big (the diaper was big on them, but they didn't completely swim in it), but because the bigger diapers did a better job of holding in messes, which we saw for ourselves when we changed Abby.
We did about an hour or so of kangaroo care after the diaper changes. Matt held Hazel, and I held Abby. H seemed to have a few episodes, but once her position was adjusted, that seemed to help (she appears to like Matt's neck/shoulder as much as I do). Abby started off quiet, but had a few low sats, which was also probably due to positioning (and finishing off her food).
The big news of the evening! Hazel now weighs 3 pounds! I suppose that isn't a huge move from 2 lbs 14 oz, but it seems really big to me. Abby hadn't been weighed yet when we were there, and they also had not been measured yet, so we'll find out how much they've grown tomorrow (or later today). ;)
So...a typical Saturday night now with the Scates family ... Matt and Hazel, and me with Abby:
