Poor Karen was out sick, so Matt and I split the day taking care of the girls (he had the morning shift, and I came home around lunchtime). After their second nap and afternoon meal, we made a quick jaunt to the grocery store for some supplies and then dropped them off (the supplies, not the girls) at the Diffens'. I think Hazel and Abby enjoyed the trip, but were tired from their big day, so Matt and I put them down a bit earlier than normal. And...they went out immediately. :)
So, based on my not-super-accurate measurements (read: got on the scale with them and then without them), Hazel is 15 pounds and Abby is 14 pounds and about 3 ounces! They are getting big! I just bought a few outfits for the upcoming seasons ... I hope they still fit when the time comes.
Hazel still loves to kick and grab her toes. Another thing she's started doing in the last week is licking her lips, especially her upper lip. It's pretty cute. When she's in the co-sleeper, she rakes her fingers against the side; when she's in the crib, no matter if you put her in the middle on her back, she flips over and ooches over to the far corner. Frequently, in the morning, instead of waking up and crying, she wakes up and babbles. It's a great way for me to wake up.
Abby loves to babble. She has really gotten into sucking on her fingers, too...usually one or two, and then switches up. I noticed her kicking more, and today I even saw her reaching to grab her foot. In the last day or two she has also started, as Matt put it, to make beep-box noises after eating. Super cute too! She still frequently sleeps in the Hollywood Pose (hands behind her head), even in the nap nanny this week.
