After four and a half months, I went back to the office today. I was excited to see everyone and see how the new routine would go with the twins in the mix. It was also kinda fun to think about getting "dressed up" again, since my wardrobe had basically been shorts, sweats, and tee shirts since March (save the occasional dress up occasion, like weddings, parties, and showers).
Fortunately, the girls are on day two of an awesome sleep schedule (bed around 9:30/10, wakeup around 6:30), so I got in a pump session and then prepped for work. Arriving at 8:30, I discovered Julie had purchased a cake for me! How sweet was that? So we cut the cake and I offered it to the people who stopped by my office to say hello (I also partook in several slices ... it's tough to say no when it is within cutting distance).
Everyone kept asking if I cried when I left the girls. No, I didn't. It was sad leaving them, but I knew they were in good hands. Of course, this is just the first day...I'm sure it gets tougher and easier the longer you go.
